French 8 is delivered through the online educational software, “Tell Me More,” one of the most advanced language training programs available.  The program focuses on all major areas of language acquisition: speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and culture.   “Tell Me More” also incorporates advanced speech recognition technology into many of the activities.  This technology along with the variety of interactive activities keeps students engaged and learning effortlessly.

Sample topics at this level include: family and friends; telling time; adjectives; table etiquette; touring the city. 

Please note the following technical requirements:

• Windows 98 / 2000 / NT / XP / 2003
• High Speed Internet connection
• Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Netscape 6.2 or higher
• Flash 6.0 or higher
• Processor – Pentium-class or higher
• RAM – 64 MB (128 MB recommended)
• 16 bit sound card
• Mouse
• Speaker and microphone or headsets

It is strongly recommended that students have some previous French courses or exposure to the French language before enrolling in this course.  Students with no previous exposure to French should take Introductory French 8 prior to enrolling in French 8. 

Important:  Tell Me More will not work on Firefox or Safari.  Several components in Tell Me More will not work on a Mac, however, it should be fully Mac compatible later this year.
