There are three distinct mathematics courses for grade 11 credit: Principles, Applications and Essentials. Each has unique learning outcomes so content differs significantly. Students should examine the details and consider their future goals before making their selection. Details on the learning outcomes of all three courses may be found at:

Applications of Math 11 is organized into 4 Modules with a summative test for each. The tests are equally weighted and together comprise 98 % of the final mark. Prior to enrolment in this course, students must complete an Initial Assignment to ensure placement in this course is appropriate. The Initial Assignment is worth 2% of the final mark.

Course Content

Module 1: Graphing & Systems of Linear Equations, Linear Programming

Module 2: Non-Linear Functions, Data Management & Analysis

Module 3: Personal Finance, Budgets & Investments

Module 4: Circle Geometry, Precision Measurement

Applications Math 11 is a paper-based course with a technology focus. Students are required to have a Graphing Calculator.

Students are expected to read and understand lessons, complete and check practice exercises then demonstrate mastery of written assignments prior to writing module tests. Support for learning will be provided in a variety of ways as needed. There is NOT an online version of this course.
